AI Camp Concentrations
RITS’s one-week AI Summer Camp introduces students ages 13+ to artificial intelligence through hands-on exploration, real-world applications, and project-based learning. Throughout the week, students learn not only the mechanics of how AI works, but also how modern AI tools are used across industries—from software development and sports science to biomedical research and computer vision. The program emphasizes experimentation, collaboration, and critical thinking, culminating in a final project presentation where students showcase what they’ve built and learned. By the end of the camp, students leave with a practical understanding of AI, confidence using cutting-edge tools, and a clearer picture of how these technologies shape today’s engineering and STEM careers.

RITS 2026 SUMMER CAMP
This immersive, week-long program introduces teenagers to the world of artificial intelligence through hands-on projects, expert instruction, and real-world applications.
During the camp, students will:
-
🤖 Build AI and biomedical robot projects through interactive workshops
-
💻 Create their own AI program or website to present at the end of the week
-
🎓 Hear guest presentations from VCU Engineering professors
-
🧠 Learn how technologies like machine learning and computer vision actually work
-
🚀 Explore careers in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies
By the end of the week, students won’t just understand AI — they’ll have built something with it.Hosted at the VCU College of Engineering, this program gives students a glimpse into what it’s like to study technology at a leading university while developing skills that will shape the future.
